Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) is a ground-breaking screening method that allows expectant parents to gain valuable insights into their baby’s health, with no risk to the pregnancy.
By analysing cell-free fetal DNA present in the mother’s blood, NIPT can detect chromosomal abnormalities such as Down syndrome, Edwards syndrome, and Patau syndrome, as well as assess gender.
This advanced technology provides accurate and early detection, empowering parents with essential information to make informed decisions about their pregnancy.

Harmony NIPT offers precise information about chromosomal conditions, while Panorama NIPT not only detects chromosomal abnormalities but also assesses microdeletions, twin zygosity, and RhD blood type compatibility.
These tests are safe, reliable, and can be performed as early as 9 weeks into pregnancy, giving expectant parents peace of mind and a deeper understanding of their baby’s well-being.
The Rhesus NIPT enables the non-invasive determination of the fetal Rh factor. Non-invasive means that we only use the mother’s blood to determine the fetal Rh factor. Hence, there is absolutely no risk to thefetus, as the Rhesus NIPT only requires taking blood from the mother.
Similar to other non-invasive prenatal tests, the test usesthe cell-free fetal DNA present in the mother’s blood. The fetal RHD gene is examined by means of PCR. Statistically, about 40% of the children of RhD-negative pregnant women are alsoRhD-negative, correspondingly aRhD-positive child can be expected in 60% of the tests.

In short, yes. We will only work with accredited laboratories and tests. We’ve reviewed the papers and science and are super confident that we’re providing best-in-market results.
We’re continually working with our partner laboratories to expand the number of test types that are available through fingerpick. As they become available, we’ll be sure to let you know. Click here to sign up for our newsletter to be the first to find out.
Usually it’ll be around the 5 minute mark from start to finish.
Once you follow our ‘How To Steps’, it can be as quick as 90 seconds but take all the time you need. Check out our video here
Honesty is vital to our mission so being honest, a little tiny bit. Genuinely, it’s like a microscopic pinch and over in the blink of an eye. Much less painful than traditional phlebotomy or sitting in a waiting room for an hour!
This is completely up to you, but there are scenarios where we would recommend repeat testing.
For example, if you complete our Vitality Profile and make changes to increase your Vitamin B12 levels such as a dietary change or supplements, it’s good to get follow-on tests to make sure you’re trending in the right direction and maintaining that level. In this case, we would recommend repeating your testing every 3-6 months.
Call us – everyone in HHC HQ have taken our own samples too often to keep track of, so we’re somewhat expert at the whole thing! We’ll happily talk you through the process.
The MOST important thing is to follow the instructions – really. We took years to hone in on what matters when it comes to preparation for self-sampling and our process works when it’s followed.
If you’re still unsure, give the team a call on 01-9012000 and we can talk you through everything.
Sorry, had to sneak this one in – FAQs are usually a bit boring.
We’ve spent years working in this field and are passionate, knowledgeable and really great at this stuff (Something about blowing our trumpets?)
We like to have fun in between the serious stuff but work like dogs when it’s needed. Healthcare can be heavy enough as a topic, it shouldn’t all be too cheerless.
Don’t worry, we’ll look after you! Our team will get a redraw kit out to you as soon as possible and arrange a call to talk you through the process to make sure we’re ticking all the boxes.
We’ve also no problem arranging a call with you when you’re ready to take your sample to give you some extra peace of mind and answer any questions on the process.
Absolutely – we’d encourage it!
We are the first step in your journey to owning your healthcare, and this is a journey you’ll want to share with your GP.
